The Apartment
Thank you for booking Just Beachy, we really hope you have a great time during your stay at our apartment and enjoy Porthtowan as much as we do – Rachael, Dave, Charlie and Toby xxx
Keys and Check Out
If you’re reading this you’ve already got the key safe code – please leave the keys securely in the key safe on check out. We recommend leaving them in there whenever you are heading out – we have personal experience of keys going missing in the sand on a beach day!
Please check out by 10am on the day of departure.

Towels
Please do not take the white bathroom towels to the beach with you. If you have not packed any beach towels for your stay, then you are welcome to use the dark green or blue spare ones in the cupboard in the lounge.
Wifi
We’re happy to provide free Wifi for you to use responsibly. Our wifi network is called justbeachyporthtowan.co.uk and the password is justbeachyporthtowan.co.uk2023
In case of any internet failure, please try the Unicorn Pub network – the signal reaches as far as the play park. It is TheUnicornOnTheBeach and the password last time we checked was surftheunicorn. There is also wifi at the village hall PVHWiFi and the password is PVH123456!! If you are heading to Blue Bar for a sunset drink, the password there is BLUEBAR123
TV
With Freeview channels, and also if you have a current subscription access to Netflix, Amazon Prime, BBC iPlayer etc. using your login details – don’t forget to sign out at the end of your stay.
PlayStation 3
Can be used to play games or DVDs – there is a selection in the shelving near the Playstation. There is also a quiz game called Buzz that uses the separate controllers with the big red buttons on them – great for a family quiz night! Press the source button on the top right of the remote and then choose HDMI1 to connect to the Playstation.
Google Home Hub
This is the screen on the shelf in the kitchen above the kettle. You can ask it anything by saying “ok Google” followed by your question. It is really handy for checking tide times/weather forecast/getting contact details for local businesses/choosing a playlist for a relaxed evening BBQ.
Reusable shopping bags
There is a selection of reusable shopping bags hanging in the tall cupboard opposite the sofa. Please make use of these for your shopping trips, but remember to leave them back in the cupboard for the next guests.
Parking
Please park in bay 11 and be careful of the un-fenced drop when maneuvering .
Heating
There are wall mounted electric heaters in both bedrooms and two in the living/dining/kitchen area. These are fitted with thermostat switches to allow them to operate on a timer. There is a little button on the side of the white socket that can switch these on and off, please do not unplug from the wall. Please do not cover, dry clothes on, or place anything too close to the heaters.
Hot Water
Hot water for the kitchen and bathroom sinks is via the hot water cylinder/immersion. This has been set with a timer switch to try and make sure there is sufficient hot water all day/evening.
The shower is electric and so does not use hot water from the immersion.
Heated Towel Rail
This again has been set with a timer switch to regularly function throughout the day/evening.
Fire Safety
Smoke and heat alarms, fire extinguishers and a fire blanket are provided for your safety.
Barbecue
Charcoal barbecue provided for outside use only please. Please clean the grill after use with the brush provided.
Garden
Feel free to enjoy the garden – there is a right of way/access for the neighbouring properties but this is rarely used. In the top left corner as you look out towards the playground there are steps down to the road for easy access to the beach but please be careful, they are quite steep and come out straight onto the road.
Oven, Grill and Hob
Hopefully the weather will be fantastic and you’ll be dining al fresco every day, but if not feel free to make full use of the oven – instruction manual provided towards the rear of the blue information pack that is in the apartment if required.
Ice and water function on fridge
The fridge will dispense crushed or whole ice, as well as chilled water. The large cylinder in the bottom of the fridge door will need refilling if you have used this function a lot.
Microwave, Kettle and Toaster
All hopefully pretty self explanatory but instruction manuals provided if we have them towards the rear of the blue information pack.
Bins/Recycling
Please use black bin bags only – some should have been provided as part of your welcome pack. When full tie up the bin bag and put in the Just Beachy wheelie bin in the far corner of the car park. The code for the padlock is 0999. Please ensure that only black bagged waste is put in the bins, no loose waste or flimsy bags. Unfortunately the recycling facilities (at the time of writing) have been removed from their previous position in the main Porthtowan Beach Car Park, but full recycling facilities are available at most of the local supermarkets, and will hopefully soon be reinstated in the village.
